SAP roundtable 6 oktober 2011 “SAP contracts more transparant”
Gepost op: 19 August 2011 in Events, Geen categorieSAP contracts
Software license is a kind of tax for the intellectual property that is loaned out by software manufacturers. You do not own the software but you may use this software under specific conditions! These conditions are set in extensive and complex contracts, terms of use and maintenance contracts with specific SLAs (Service Level Agreement). Just as you do not want to evade taxes, because it can become costly or do not want to pay too much, it is with software licensing hard not to.
What should you look for in your current and future SAP contracts and what pitfalls are there? We will discuss this in detail during the Round Table. The following subjects will be discussed.
What parts of the contract are important in the negotiation?
It’s not a fist on the table to get the highest discount, but examine the value of the software and which parts of the contract can be negotiated. Contracts are often seen as a piece of concrete and not many people know what the possibilities are. These negotiations are now more productive than getting a discount.
What parts are you leaving out of the contract and what do you add?
The party in front of you, usually the software manufacturer or representative will not specify which parts can be omitted or be modified. We have 9 years of experience in negotiations with SAP and we can help you to indicate exactly what can and what can’t be removed from contracts, this for the benefit of current and future investment.
Gartner
What is the approach of Gartner on Generalised Systems of Preferences (GSP) contract negotiations and how can these be substantiated in the final negotiations with your SAP representative?
Benchmarking
In other words, do you pay too much compared to others? And what kind of conditions are similar to the compared organizations? Knowledge is power!
Tooling / tools
With a good thermometer one can better negotiate. There is,especially for SAP environments, an excellent management tool that provides you with all necessary information.
For who is this round table?
This round table is for the SAP contract managers within the organization and others who negotiated with SAP.
